Bobi Wine’s Kyarenga concert hangs in balance as government organs play him syndicate
The Kyarenga concert that was initially scheduled for October 20 at Namboole Stadium was a no-show after both the police and the stadium’s management failed the clear it saying that the venue was booked by a wedding on the said date.
After a series of negotiations, Bobi Wine’s management signed an agreement with the stadium Managing Director, Jamil Sewanyana to host the album launch on November 9 only for the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) to raise concerns about the state of the stadium considering that the Uganda Cranes have a return fixture against Cape Verde the subsequent weekend.
The result was for Namboole to cancel the agreement with Bobi Wine’s team advising that they find “an alternative venue” but according to Bobi Wine, these are nothing but government machinations to block his concert vowing that the show will go on, hook or crook.
