Crowds along Entebbe Road wave at Pope Francis in the Kia Soul that is using as his means of transportation in Uganda.

Those familiar with Pope Francis and his taste in transportation were not surprised that His Holiness chose a modest means of transport for his trip in Uganda.

The Pope asked that a modest means of transport be provided during his visit. In Kenya, a Honda sedan was chosen, and in Uganda, he is moving around in a little Kia Soul.

The Pope arrives at State House Entebbe.

He was chauffeured from Entebbe Airport to State House and later the Martyrs Shrine in Munyonyo in the black tiny car. The Pope rode with his windows down, waving at faithful who lined the streets.

The Kia is a South Korean make and he used the same model during his 2014 visit to the Asian nation.
The Pontiff will also use an Isuzu D-Max Popemobile pick-up especially when he meets the youth at Kololo Ceremonial grounds this Saturday afternoon.

The Pope uses modest means of transport wherever he goes. This 20-year-old Renault was given to him as a gift.

Pope Francis consistently uses modest transportation. He was known to take the bus while serving as a cardinal in Argentina, and back in Rome, he uses a Ford Focus or a 20-year-old Fiat and he has encouraged clergymen to follow suit and also live modestly.
