Does it have anything to do with China? Here is why Entebbe Airport is referred to as HUEN

The Chinese-sounding code ‘HUEN’ for Entebbe Airport has many worried as a section from the public thought Entebbe Airport was taken over by China and hence renamed “Huen International Airport”.

HUEN is the International civil aviation Organization (ICAO) code for Entebbe airport just like IATA uses Entebbe and it has been like that since it was accredited.

Here is the simple explanation of how the Airport was coded HUEN; H – Region in which the airport is located (Check Map Below)
U – Country in which the airport is located (Uganda)
EN – Represents the exact airport

So, Entebbe Airport has not been renamed “Huen International Airport”.
