If you know the whereabouts of FUFA President, Moses Magogo as of Friday morning, count yourself lucky! Things have fast changed from the jovial mood when the Cranes made it to the last 16 of the AFCON Finals to #PayUgandaCranesAllowances.
This was after the players failed to turn up for a training session citing the failure by the Ugandan Football Federation to remit their allowances for the new phase of the tourney as agreed. The plays are threatening to sit out the knockout game with Senegal on Friday if FUFA remains hesitant to release their allowances.
Ugandans woke up to this impasse on Friday morning and have already started a campaign to force Magogo and team who also are in Egypt to pay the players’ allowances lest the send the entire FUFA team packing from FUFA House.
The campaign led by Vision Group CEO, Robert Kabushenga has sent Magogo panicking and as you read this, a statement has already been released saying that players only owed FUFA Shs55m that has already been paid to zero balance.
But Ugandans are having none of this. A hashtag #PayUgandaCranesAllowances is trending No.1 and from the ears on the ground in Egypt. Magogo has not been seen living large as has been the case in the previous days.
