Police holds random ‘Kawunyemu’ operation, ends up intercepting a car with burglary equipment

Yesterday night Kira Police Division decided to randomly conduct a ‘kawunyemu’ operation just opposite Kira court. During the operation, several drunk drivers were arrested and motor vehicles impounded.

Nevertheless, the operation also ended up impounding a robbery vehicle Reg No. UAZ 529T, Toyota Corolla silver grey in colour.

According to police, the driver upon noticing the Police check point, he fled leaving his colleague in the vehicle identified as Micheal Muyomba

In search of the seized vehicle, various items were recovered including, Two black bags, a laptop black in colour Dell type, several electric switches, main switch box, a 24 inch flat screen, three rolls of electric cables, wall clock, Sub Hoover’s, Electric Kettle and five small speakers.

Furthermore a pair of blue gloves, a white face mask, four screw drivers, a master key, a spanner, File for sharpening, a short panga, a metal cutter, and a metal saw were also recovered from the vehicle. Muyomba who was found in the car had three phones on him.

 “We now want to establish the source of the property referred above or scene of crime plus track and arrest the associates then prosecute both on evidence,” said police in a statement.

‘We also want to establish the exact owner of the motor vehicle, because currently it is suspected to be stolen. Lastly we suspect these people to have broken into an electronics shop,” it added.
