Stella Nyanzi hearing: MUK students protest over missed lectures, four arrested

Makerere university students donning the red undergraduate gowns stormed Buganda Road Chief Magistrates court this morning at the hearing of lecturer  Dr. Stella Nyanzi’s bail application. They were protesting stating that they have missed lectures and wanted her released immediately to resume her duties at the university.

Four students who are yet-to-be-identified were arrested and taken to Kampala Central Police Station. Dr. Stella Nyanzi who was expected in court today at 9am but failed to appear on time. According to reports, she got emergency treatment before being transported to court.

 Nyanzi has been on remand since April 10 after she was arrested over offensive communication and cyber harassment after referring to President Museveni as a pair of buttocks in a Facebook post.
