A yet-to-be identified midwife at Busia Health Centre is being accused of leading to the horrific death of a newborn baby. Lillian Musaazi, the mother of the deceased claims that the midwife mishandled the birth process.

According to Musaazi, during the process of giving birth, the baby’s lower body popped out first. But due to too much pain, she failed to safely deliver. The midwife in charge decided to twist and pull the baby causing the baby to be born with the head detached from the body.

Musaazi claims the midwife used too much energy in trying to pull out the baby. Such claims have forced Police in Busia district to immediately start on investigations of the circumstances that led to the death of the infant.
