The Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) has officially announced that Eid-Al-Fitr will be celebrated tomorrow, Sunday, March 30, 2025, following the sighting of the Shawwal crescent moon in Saudi Arabia on Saturday evening.
According to the UMSC, reports from Saudi media confirmed the moon sighting, marking the end of Ramadan after 29 days of fasting. As a result, Muslims across the world, including Uganda, will observe Eid-Al-Fitr on Sunday.
Dr. Sheikh Ziyad Swaleh Lubanga, UMSC’s Director of Sharia, confirmed that national Eid prayers will take place at Gaddafi Mosque in Kampala. The prayers, set to begin at 8 a.m., will be led by the Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Ramadhan Mubajje.
