Police have arrested five suspects in connection with the murder of Ivan Oloya Demacris, a 30-year-old teacher at Seeta High School, Mbalala Campus.
Oloya’s lifeless body was discovered on Saturday, March 22, 2025, lying by the roadside in Bajjo Cell, Nyenje Ward, Goma Division, Mukono District. The police believe he was attacked while on his way home.
Preliminary investigations indicate that he was struck on the head, his skull crushed, and stabbed multiple times.
Following an intense investigation, Kampala Metropolitan Police have taken five suspects into custody in connection with the murder.
The arrested individuals, all casual laborers in the area, have been identified as: Kasumba Paul (21), Mabale Simon (23), Kibuuka Tom (38), Lukodda Simon (18), and Kandoole Charles Dani (16).
The breakthrough in the case came after a police canine search at the crime scene led investigators to the suspects.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango, Oloya was attacked near the gate of Code High School, where his wife, Abbey Mercy, works as a teacher.
“He was heading home to Bajjo when he was ambushed and killed near Code High School,” Onyango revealed.
Police continue their investigations to establish the motive behind the killing, as the suspects remain in custody for further questioning.
