After a three-month break, the I&M Bank Katogo Golf Series will tee off for the 2025 season this Saturday, March 15, at Entebbe Club’s par-71 golf course.
Following the season launch on March 3, all is set for the official tee off of what organisers described as ‘an even more exciting season,’ that comes with new developments and a fresh approach, that is expected to elevate the experience at the quarterly outings.
The season already started, albeit off the course, with a series of daily online trivia questions, that are tournament- and golf-related, testing golfers’ knowledge of the series and the game at large. Winners of the quiz will be awarded during the 19th hole experience, this Saturday.
Katogo Captain- Elly Kibuka Mukasa says everything is ready for a perfect tee off of the season opener this Saturday;
“We are all set for this Saturday. And going by the online subscription, we expect nothing short of a full course. We pledge a memorable experience, both on and off the course, for everyone. As for the 19th hole experience, I can assure everyone that our partners have worked gone all out to ensure the season kicks off with a bang,” he said.

Mukasa highlighted that there will be exciting prizes for the top five male pairs, the top three lady pairs, as well as side bet winners.
One of the key highlights for the season opener, is the hole-in-one prize: a Mitsubishi Outlander Sport (X-force), courtesy of Victoria Motors. The prize is insured by GA Insurance, who are also partners of the series.
Annette Nakiyaga, the Marketing and Corporate Communication head at I&M Bank, noted that the series continues to grow each year, and stated that this year will not be any different.
“We’re really excited about this season and proud to be part of it. The I&M Bank Katogo Golf Series has become the perfect platform for golfers to come together to enjoy the game differently. This year shall see golfers enjoy some new and exciting formats of play, and together with other partners, we’ve also worked out some exciting additions to the 19th hole experience,” she said.
Round one of the series will be played under the ‘Rejected’ format. This format shall have golfers pair up, and tee off normally. The pairs shall strictly be of the same sex; no mixed pairs.
The opposing team shall then decide where their opponents play their second shots from. The player must move their balls to that position, and place it no more than one scorecard length away from their partner’s ball. The better nett score from the pair on each hole shall count as the team’s score.
However, each team will have an opportunity to reject the opposing team’s chosen position and select their own, on six select holes. At these rejected holes, the pair’s worse nett score shall be recorded as the team’s score.
Off the course, the 19th hole experience will be hosted by renowned comedian Patrick ‘Salvador’ Idringi, and will be headlined by talented songstress- Naava Grey, who recently hosted her maiden sold-out concert at the Kampala Serena, with I&M Bank on her side.
Johnnie Walker will be spicing up things with delicious cocktails and amazing bottle offers.
Other partners of the I&M Katogo Golf Series 2025 include- Rwanda Air, NBS Sport, Fenon Events, Serena Hotel, Lake Victoria Golf Resort & Spa, Time Cop Security, and Goldman’s Luxury.
