Special Forces Command (SFC), an elite force that guards the President, has arrested 14 people for blocking President Yoweri Museveni’s motorcade and removing the National Emblem from his vehicle.
According to security sources, this incident happened two days ago in Kansanga as Museveni was heading to Entebbe State House.
It is reported that Museveni’s motorcade was rammed into by 15 people at around 11:30 a.m.
Reports indicate that the group had hidden at Rubis petrol station in Kansanga, while others had disguised themselves as pedestrians.
They were arrested and taken to Kabalagala Police Station.
The suspects include Nabukyu Janet, Lumu Shafiq, Kalema Joshua, Nsubuga Sharif, Kayanja Tom, Mawejje John, Katumba Jimmy, Holiday Robben, Namugerwa Nanfuka Annet, Mukisa Jennifer, Kato Kimbugwe, Nakabugo Elidada, Nasolo Gladys, and Kamala William.
The suspects were arraigned before court on Thursday and charged with careless pedestrian conduct.
Mutebi Sharif, who allegedly removed the National Emblem from the President’s car, will be charged with malicious damage and is expected to be produced in court today.
