Victoria Crocs edge Saints 82-78 in thrilling Game 1 of FUBA Division One Final Playoffs

Victory University, also known as the Victoria Crocs, claimed an 82-78 win against the Rezlife Saints in game one of the FUBA Division One Final Playoffs in a thrilling encounter at the Lugogo Indoor Arena.

The Saints got off to a strong start, opening a four-point lead (21-17) at the end of the first quarter. However, the Crocs regrouped in the second quarter, overturning the deficit to secure a three-point advantage (37-34) going into halftime.

The intensity peaked in the third quarter as both teams engaged in a fierce back-and-forth battle. Victoria University managed to edge ahead by just two points (63-61) as the quarter concluded, setting the stage for a nail-biting finish.

In the decisive final quarter, the Crocs held their nerve and outperformed the Saints, securing the win with a four-point margin (82-78).

Joseph Kumbai Ayol delivered a standout performance for the Crocs, recording an impressive double-double with 19 points and 18 rebounds. On the Saints’ side, Gideon Kasasa led the scoring with 15 points, while Richard Anyunva dominated the boards, pulling down 11 rebounds.

The two teams are set to clash again in game two of the series tomorrow at the Lugogo Indoor Arena. It promises to be another electrifying showdown as the Saints look to even the series while the Crocs aim to solidify their advantage.
