Singer Alexander Bagonza, alias A Pass, has stated that he has never focused on making hit songs, which explains why he has never had a hit song despite being in the music industry for about a decade.
Speaking to a website during the official launch of his ‘A Pass Live in Concert,’ the singer said he creates meaningful music that resonates deeply with people.
“I have never had a hit song; I have meaningful songs. There are songs that were hits, but no one can listen to them now. All my songs are very important because people listen to and enjoy them to this day, and they will continue to do so even in the years to come,” A Pass said.
He added, “I take a lot of time when creating my music, and that’s why it’s timeless.”
Regarding his upcoming concert slated for Friday, January 31, at Serena Hotel, A Pass, who burst onto the Ugandan music scene in 2014 and has consistently delivered chart-toppers like Tuli Kubigere, Mariana, Didadada, Wuuyo, Chupa Ku Chupa, Gamululu, and Memories featuring Lilian Mbabazi, says his concert will be a beautiful experience for his fans.
“I am a man who likes quality stuff, and I have been preparing for this concert since November last year. That already shows you that I’ll give everything on stage. I want to deliver a beautiful experience for my fans,” the singer said.
He added, “When people come to experience a concert, you have to give them their money’s worth. I will be serving all audiences with reggae, ragga, zouk, and dancehall.”
The singer also revealed that a renowned sound engineer will be flying into Uganda for his concert as he wants his sound to be at its finest.
I&M Bank, which celebrated its golden jubilee at the same venue in June last year and also supported Jose Chameleone’s Legend in Gold concert in celebration of his 25 years in music, is one of the main sponsors of A Pass Live in Concert. The bank has committed to continuing its support for local talent and events that resonate with Ugandans.
Fenon also will be part of his upcoming concert, adding even more excitement to the highly anticipated event.
