United Bank for Africa (UBA) Uganda, through the UBA Foundation’s Food Bank initiative, visited Hope for AIDS Orphans Uganda to spread joy, love, and support in celebration of the festive season.
The team, led by Shamim Nambuusi, Head of Legal; Hoziana Niyonsaba Ssemanda, Head of Marketing; and Jonathan Sunday, Regional Head Upcountry, was warmly welcomed by Mwebaze Daniel, the Director of Hope for AIDS Orphans Uganda.
The visit included the donation of essential day-to-day items to support the orphanage, which provides care and education for over 150 children living with HIV or orphaned by HIV.
Daniel expressed heartfelt gratitude for UBA Uganda’s generous support, highlighting that the donated items, especially the food supplies, were timely during this long holiday and would greatly benefit the children as they celebrate the festive season.
During her address, Shamim emphasized the importance of giving children hope, even in the face of challenges like living with HIV and becoming orphans at such a tender age. “It is a great gesture to show these children that they matter, their future is bright, and they are loved,” she emphasized.
Hoziana appreciated the work the orphanage is doing for the children in their custody and the community. She praised the Director’s unwavering dedication and encouraged him to continue his noble work.
“Children are a gift from God, and their well-being should always be our priority,” she added.
“As UBA, we value the well-being of such a young generation because they are the leaders and bankers of tomorrow. That is why, through our CSR initiatives, we have programs like these to share gifts, love, and encouraging stories with them,” she emphasized.
Jonathan highlighted the significance of investing in the future of children.
“Providing for and nurturing these kids is not just a duty; it is an investment in their bright and promising futures,” he said.
The visit was filled with heartwarming moments as the UBA team and children shared joyful dances, laughter, and the spirit of togetherness.
Through UBA Foundation’s different programs, UBA Uganda is dedicated to supporting education, environmental conservation, governance, health, and sharing essential items with needy communities across the country.
This visit is part of the Bank’s efforts and commitment to give back to society and celebrate the festive season with those most in need.
