Police arrest over 100 suspects in citywide crime crackdown

Police in Kampala Metropolitan Area have conducted an intelligence-led operation across various parts of the capital on Tuesday.

These targeted crackdowns focused on areas known for criminal activities such as marijuana trade, smoking, burglaries, and theft.

In Kitintale, Port Bell, Luzira, Kifuufu, and Gulf areas, police arrested 19 suspects linked to illegal activities.

Additional operations extended to Kira Division, where 30 suspects were apprehended for possession of opium, and Mukono, where 47 individuals were detained for marijuana possession and other offenses.

At the Central Police Station in Kampala, 20 more suspects were arrested for various crimes.

Police described the effort as a success and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining law and order across the city.
