Police in Kampala have conducted a raid and arrested three suspects—Bagonza Eric, 28, Kati Ronald, 36, and Mwoko Parnento, 24—for allegedly forging security documents.
The arrests were made near Ben Kiwanuka Street at the former Shoprite building.
The suspects, posing as Airtel agents, are alleged to have been illegally printing and producing security documents, including National IDs, passports, and telecommunications registration documents, specifically for Airtel lines.
During the raid, police recovered various items, including a machine reportedly used in the commission of the crime.
The Central Police Station Criminal Investigation Department is currently recording statements and working to identify the owners of the recovered National Identification Cards. Police officials state that this will guide the next steps in the investigation.
