The Uganda Cranes safely landed in Brazzaville ahead of their last 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification match against Congo Brazzaville.
The game is slated for today, Tuesday, November 19, at 7 PM EAT at the iconic Stade Alphonse Massamba-Débat.
Head coach Paul Put has assembled a formidable 26-man squad, determined to secure a result that could propel Uganda to the top of Group K.
The Cranes currently occupy second place with 10 points, just one behind group leaders South Africa.
Team captain Khalid Aucho emphasized the players’ commitment to the task ahead, stating, “We understand the importance of this game and are committed to giving our best to ensure we end the campaign on a high note.”
Coach Paul Put also addressed the team’s loyal fans, urging them to stay behind the Cranes despite a disappointing result in their previous match against South Africa. “I know you’re hurting after our last performance, but your unwavering support means everything to us. Stick with us, and we’ll fight to make you proud,” Put said.
To finish atop Group K, Uganda must not only win against Congo Brazzaville but also hope for a slip-up by South Africa in their match against South Sudan. With both matches happening simultaneously, the stakes couldn’t be higher.
The Cranes are poised for a spirited battle as they aim to seal their AFCON qualification in style.
