Soulful melodies, roasted meat, and Bell Citrus shine at Roast and Rhyme’s ‘Soul on Strings’ Edition

The “Soul on Strings” edition of the Bell Lager-sponsored Roast and Rhyme delivered a vibrant picnic experience by the lakeside, combining live music, mouth-watering meat roasting, cozy lawn setups, and refreshing sips of the new Bell Citrus.

Known for its reggae vibes, this edition took a different turn with soulful performances from legendary Irene Namubiru, Zulitums, Anknown, and heartfelt poetry from Kabera Angel.

The highlight of the evening was Namubiru, who captivated the crowd with timeless hits like Essimu Y’ekiro, Simbalala, and Empissa Zo Zikyuseko, evoking deep emotions and leaving fans mesmerized. Maro, now based in Germany, made a memorable comeback to the Ugandan stage after four years, delighting fans with classics like Mubbi Bubbi, Kyokoba, and Anjagala.

Bell Lager Brand Manager Lillian Kansiime expressed the brand’s dedication to enhancing the Roast and Rhyme experience, saying, “With Bell Citrus, we’re adding a fresh, playful twist to let the good times flow.”

The event was filled with excitement, starting with engaging games that set the mood, followed by a “Double Black Takeover” featuring DJ Lynda Ddane and Melvyn DJ, who surprised guests with a mix of gospel, old-school R&B, Ugandan classics, and afrobeats. Nearby, the green-themed Bell Citrus area offered fun board games, ball games, and special promotions, drawing a crowd that enjoyed the zestful vibes all day.

While skeptics may have had their doubts, fans of Roast and Rhyme left the “Soul on Strings” edition with unforgettable memories and a taste for more.
