The second edition of Bell ObaFest is one you had to attend to fully appreciate the magic created when more than a beer experience meets food, art and music.
The flagship beer of Uganda Breweries, Bell Lager united beer lovers in a 3-day beer celebration of some of the iconic beer brands in Uganda, marking the official unveil its latest innovation, Bell Citrus, a zesty flavoured beer in a colourful display of fireworks and energetic dance performance.
Guinness, Bell Lager, Bell Citrus and Pilsner Lager, unanimously curated special experiences unique to the individual brands, that catered to football fans at the Guiness premier league matchday showcase, not forgetting yet bigger news with a new Pilsner variant, Pilsner King that uniquely popped out as you walked into the main festival grounds.
The cultural hues left many reminiscing of their unique cultural heritage and of course, a new refreshing taste of Pilsner King, while the Bell Citrus electric avenue got everyone hands on through artistic expressions like body art and crews sharing a jug of Bell Lager and some nyama choma at the Bell Lager arena.
A diverse Ugandan-based music lineup got revellers on their feet throughout the three days with performances from legendary stars like Bebe Cool, the Blu 3 trio, Maddox Ssematimba, Myko Ouma, Vinka, and sweet melodies of Elijah Kitaka alongside Double Black.
Kika Troupe and Alideki Brian spiced up the festival with a traditional twist to the performances, with an extensive line-up of some of Kampala’s DJ’s with an unexpected but interesting Ssuna Ben takeover on the last day.
Speaking during the festival, Lillian Kansiime the Bell Lager Brand Manager noted that as the official enjoyments beer, Bell Lager is aiming towards redefining enjoyments through its annual platform, Bell ObaFest by combining various cultural identifiers that unite us as Ugandans from the savoury food stuffs to forms of expression like fashion and art and bringing our crews together to raise a toast to beer.
Amidst it all, revellers enjoyed their favorite beer brands at attractive offers, won exclusive brand goodies and had free access to drinking water at all points that reinforced spacing drinks with water to counter irresponsible drinking among revellers.
The festival additionally made a comeback with a sign language interpreter to cater to persons with disabilities and an extensive waste management arrangement that further amplified the brand’s sustainability agenda.
