Lujja Tabula, the prime suspect in the murder of Ndiga clan head Engineer Daniel Bbosa, has asked the court to release his co-accused, claiming they are “innocent” as he is the only one who planned the killing of the Ndiga clan head.
While appearing before Mwanga 2 Court today, presided over by Grade One Magistrate Adams Byarugaba, Tabula once again confessed to masterminding the murder before requesting the court to release four co-accused individuals.
He stated that only he and his nephew, Noah Lujja, the man reported to have shot the Ndiga clan head, should be kept in custody.
The four suspects whom Tabula seeks to have released include Harriet Nakiguli, Joseph Nakabale, Ezra Mayanja, and Milly Naluwenda.
However, Grade One Magistrate Adams Byarugaba said that the authority to decide on that matter lies with the High Court, and the suspect will be produced in the High Court in three weeks.
Tabula was arrested in August after evading arrest for months following the killing of the Ndiga clan head on February 25, 2024.
He confessed that he paid the two killers to help him exact revenge for the murder of his father, Israel Kalyesubula, in 1989. He accused the former clan head of being behind his father’s murder.
Tabula also accused him of selling Ndiga clan land in the Mpigi district and further claimed to be the rightful Ndiga clan head.
