Last night, Guvnor, typically a hotspot for Kampala’s more seasoned partygoers, opened its doors to a younger crowd of fun lovers and thrill seekers.
East Africa’s premier nightclub was alive with Amapiano beats all night, thanks to DJ Kamali and Mas Musiq, the headlining act at the I&M Bank and Don Julio sponsored event.
The night reached its peak when Mas Musiq took over the DJ booth at around 1:30 a.m., following an impressive warm-up set by the equally amazing DJ Kamali.
Mas Musiq, a South African Amapiano DJ and producer, was in his element. The star performed for a full house of excited Gen Z and Millennial patrons, keeping the energy high, the way the new generation knows how to have a good time.
From the moment he took to the stage, he knew exactly what to feed his crowd. His seamless two-hour DJ set captivated fans, with the dance floor packed from start to finish.
He treated partygoers to some of his most beloved tracks like, Zaka, Uzozisola, and “lMthande, each one met with roars of excitement and cameras in the air as patrons tried to capture the magic.
The dance floor was a sea of people, with the crowd moving in perfect rhythm to the beat, while others captured videos and selfies to stamp a memory to the night.
Mas Musiq expressed his gratitude in a heartfelt sign out message at the end of his performance; “Thank you so much to my Ugandan fans, I’ve enjoyed partying with you.”
As part of its ongoing commitment to enhancing nightlife experiences, Tequila brand – Don Julio, partnered with Shonale to bring the exciting event to life.
The brand had expert mixologists make tasty cocktails that turned to be the perfect companion for the Amapiano lovers.
A good number of revelers, especially those that were in groups, ordered for bottles that besides the enjoyment, served as a perfect backdrop to snap away and toasting to a great night out.
“We are happy that Don Julio is quickly becoming a staple in Kampala’s club scene, and last night was proof that this tequila is the perfect pairing for a great night out with friends,” said Simon Lapyem, Innovations Manager at UBL.
He also spoke about why Don Julio chose to sponsor the event; “We partnered with Shonale for this event because we know the value of creating experiences for people who work hard and deserve to celebrate life. At the end of the week, there’s nothing better than good music, great company, and of course, some shots of Don Julio.”
It was a night where old-school charm met the new-age energy, proving that when it comes to music and fun, there are no generational boundaries.
