Over the weekend, President Yoweri Museveni toured Speaker Anita Among’s cattle farm in Bukedea District, which he helped start.
According to the Speaker, a few years ago, Museveni donated 200 head of cattle to her. This was after she visited him at his ranch in Kiruhura District and expressed interest in joining the cattle-rearing venture herself.
On Sunday, Speaker Among revealed that her farm has now grown to over 2,000 cattle.
“A few years ago, when I visited H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, he gifted me with 200 cows. I was happy to report to him that the herd has since grown to over 2,000. It is important for leaders to set an example and show the community ways to participate in the money economy,” said Among.
As expected, Ugandans never let anything slide with their comments. A significant portion is wondering how the Speaker multiplied the 200 cows into over 2,000 in a few years.
It is important to note that a cow is pregnant for around nine months (or 279 to 292 days). The gestation length varies depending on several factors, such as the breed of the cow and the sex of the calf.
Though we are yet to establish the length of the ‘few years’ the Speaker is referring to, Ugandans are curious about how the Speaker achieved this.
“Every farmer knows that you can’t multiply 200 cows to 2,000 even in 10 years. Why do our leaders lie?” commented one Esau Matsiko.
Xephasofficial said, “From 200 to 2,000? That’s an 1800% increase. You must be a great cattle keeper.”
Emmy cryptically remarked, “So, he gifted you 200, and now you have 2,000. The biological term for that is mooooooltiplication!”
However, others praised the Speaker for taking good care of the cattle donated to her by the President, while some suggested that she donate some of the cattle now that her farm has grown to over 2,000.
