Match Day 4 of the NGO League was nothing short of thrilling, with the Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon team making a special appearance at the Kitante Grounds.
With the marathon just around the corner on August 24th in Kasese, Tusker Lite made a stylish appearance, rallying the old boys of Namilyango College, affectionately known as “Ngonians,” in support of the upcoming race.
The organizers added an extra layer of excitement to the day’s events, creating a buzz that is sure to carry over to the marathon. Combined with football and merry-making, it made for a memorable Sunday outing.
Tusker Lite’s presence was felt throughout the grounds, as they brought a vibrant dance fitness team to entertain the Ngonians with exciting and engaging routines that made a lasting impression.
“We recognize the strength of this community, not just in sports, but in the way you support each other. This is why we are here to support and engage the Old Boys alumni because the marathon is about an experience that brings people together, much like the bonds we see at Ngo League,” said Patience Aguti, Project Manager, UBL.
The response from the NGO League community was incredible. Dozens of Ngonians took the opportunity to register for the marathon, with many pledging to lace up their running shoes for either the 5km or 10km race, showing their support for the marathon organizers’ efforts.
As the big day draws nearer, it’s clear that the Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon is set to be a global spectacle, with participants from over 30 countries already registered.
With the marathon now having a globally accredited course, this year’s event is set to attract runners from around the world for an unforgettable adventure through the stunning landscapes of Kasese.
