World record holder in the 5000 and 10000 meters, Joshua Cheptegei, has done it again, winning the 10,000m at the Paris Olympics. Cheptegei secured the gold that eluded him at the last Olympics. He finished the race in 26:43.14, an Olympic time record.

Cheptegei, who ran his last race in the distance, becomes the first Ugandan to win three medals at the Olympics.

The world champion timed his run perfectly to walk away with the gold medal in front of Ethiopia’s Berihu Aregawi, who came in second place, and America’s Grant Fisher, who finished third.
