Police in Mubende have arrested one Alex Mugisha, a pastor at Prophecy Pentecostal Church, for the murder of his 6-year-old son, Samuel Niyokusiima.

The incident occurred on Tuesday morning at Kanseera village in Mubende district. The mother of the deceased, Mediya Mukanohere, said that the incident happened when she had gone to the garden.

Upon returning, she found her husband with blood all over his clothes. She decided to check inside the house, only to find the lifeless body of their child lying in a pool of blood.

“When he saw me, he tried to run away, and when I entered the room, I found my son in a pool of blood, his neck severed,” Mukanohere said.

She alerted the residents, who immediately pounced on the husband, but he was shortly rescued by the police. He confessed to having killed his son, claiming that he has mental challenges.

Wamala Region Police Spokesperson, Superintendent of Police Racheal Kawala, confirmed the incident, saying that investigations into the matter have commenced.
