Kawempe North Member of Parliament (MP) Mohammad Ssegirinya has been flown back to Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya, for review and further treatment. This comes three weeks after he was discharged and allowed to return to Uganda.
According to Ssegirinya’s personal assistant, Alex Luwemba, his flying back to Kenya was recommended by his doctors. However, our sources reveal that the MP’s health condition has been deteriorating for the past week.
Since his release from Luzira Prison about two years ago, Ssegirinya has been in and out of the hospital, battling lung diseases, hypertension, skin cancer, and other complications.
In mid-last year, he was rushed to Germany and later transferred to Amsterdam UMC Hospital in the Netherlands, as his condition had worsened beyond management in Uganda. He was discharged from Amsterdam UMC Hospital in September after undergoing treatment for various ailments.
However, his health condition deteriorated a few months later, leading to his admission to Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya. He was at the hospital for nearly six months until his discharge last month.
We wish you a quick recovery, Hon. Mohammed Ssegirinya.
