The police have launched a manhunt for thugs on motorcycles who attacked and robbed an Indian businessman in broad daylight in Kampala. The incident occurred on Tuesday at around 12 pm at Eso Corner.
The victim has been identified as Joshi Keshav, a 32-year-old Indian national and tour and travel company operator based at Crown House, Kampala Road.
The CCTV footage making the rounds on social media shows Keshav on a motorcycle carrying a bag when he was cornered by several riders in the middle of heavy traffic.
The assailants proceeded to beat and rob him. The police say that the stolen items include a laptop valued at Shs2.2 million, cash amounting to Shs150,000, an Ecobank debit card, and keys. Keshav sustained only minor injuries.
The police say that numerous clues have been gathered to aid in the ongoing efforts to apprehend the suspects involved in this crime.
