The parents of Hon. Phiona Nyamutoro, Minister of State for Mineral Development, have shared insights into their daughter’s childhood and her relationship with singer Eddy Kenzo.
Patrick Apecu and Caroline Apecu described their daughter as a serious and focused individual. According to her father, Nyamutoro never introduced him to any boyfriend until last year when she brought Eddy Kenzo to their home and introduced him as her partner.
“When she told me, I believed her because I know she is a serious girl,” her father said in a local TV interview.
Nyamutoro’s mother, Caroline Apecu, expressed pride in her daughter, stating that she has brought dignity to their home.
When asked about their approval of Nyamutoro’s choice of partner, her father emphasized that they respect her independence.
“A child grows up to make decisions, and as parents, you cannot decide who your daughter should marry. They meet friends out there, and how they meet them is none of our business. Our business is to receive the report that she brings home,” he said.
The couple has confirmed that they will soon travel to Nebbi, Nyamutoro’s parents’ country home, for the introduction ceremony.
