Man arrested for kicking his pregnant wife to death

A 30-year-old man, Nabbos Byarugaba, has been arrested by police in Kakumiro for allegedly killing his 25-year-old wife, Florence Musiime.

The incident occurred in Muziranduru village, Kibijjo sub-county, Kakumiro district, in eastern Uganda on June 30, after the couple quarreled for unknown reasons.

 In the process, Byarugaba allegedly kicked Musiime in the stomach. Later, Musiime, who was pregnant, developed complications and died en route to Kakumiro Health Centre IV.

 Area residents mobilized and arrested Byarugaba, handing him over to the police.

Julius Hakiiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson, stated that murder charges have been preferred against the suspect, who is currently detained at Kakumiro Police Station, while Musiime’s body has been handed over to her relatives for burial.
