The clock is ticking on the early bird offer for registration to participate in this year’s edition of the Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon.
Participants are reminded to take advantage of the early bird tickets sales before it ends on July 1st by visiting https://rwenzorimarathon.com/registration.
“The early bird fee for East African Community citizens and residents is Shs50,000, while international runners can register for USD 50. These rates are valid until July 1st, so don’t miss this opportunity to join in the excitement at a discounted price,” said Patience Aguti, the Project Manager, Tusker Lite.
This year’s marathon, the third edition of the annual event offers a 5km route for beginners, a new 10km route for those looking for a moderate challenge, a 21km half-marathon for seasoned runners, and the ultimate 42km marathon for endurance athletes.
The addition of the 10km route this year provides an excellent middle ground for runners who want to push their limits without committing to the longer distances.
The Tusker Lite Mt Rwenzori Marathon has rapidly gained global recognition. Aguti says that last year, the event attracted participants from 17 countries, and this year, it is expected to have an even more diverse turnout.
“With the recent route certification exercise by World Athletics in May, we are now on the global calendar, and we anticipate even bigger numbers this year. We look forward to welcoming runners from all over the world to experience the thrills of running in breathtaking Kasese,” she said.
Other partners of the Tusker Lite Mt Rwenzori Marathon include Standard Chartered Bank, Rwenzori Water, PSFU, Britam, Toyota by CFAO, and the Ministry of Tourism.
