The 2024 edition of Kampala Restaurant Week, a signature showcase of restaurants and the wide array of dining options Kampala has to offer has been officially launched.
An initiative of The Pearl Guide, the week will run between July 4th to July 14th with a total of thirty of Kampala’s top restaurants participating. As is customary, the restaurants have crafted special creative menus that will be available for a 10-day duration with meals ranging between Shs20,000 to Shs45,000.
“We are pleased to announce the return of this signature dining experience following a forced hiatus resulting from the pandemic. We have worked closely with the participating restaurants ensuring food lovers will have delicious menu options ranging from casual to signature dining. We are also pleased to feature a wide variety of top restaurants for food lovers to choose from. This edition of Kampala Restaurant Week returns as Kampala now boasts of a growing and evolving restaurant scene,” said Isaac Langoli from The Pearl Guide.
With sponsorship from Uganda Breweries and Aquafina, guests will receive a complimentary Tusker Cider or Aquafina with every signature meal. In addition, Stanbic Bank will offer enjoy an instant cashback discount on payments made via Flexipay at any of the participating restaurants.
“The beauty of Kampala Restaurant Week is it presents an opportunity to try out various restaurants and multiple cuisines served at specially price fixed menus. This includes all-time favorite restaurants as well as new hot spots. Every year we continue to see Kampala’s restaurant scene grow and we believe this is the perfect opportunity to drive traffic to these establishments with the promise of an exciting culinary experience. The week also coincides with the tourism peak, allowing us to showcase Uganda’s hospitality sector and the great tasting food from our bountiful agriculture sector. We intend to continue to market Kampala city as a food destination with a diverse culinary scene,” Isaac added.
The invite only launch event held at Stone Haven attracted attendance from selected food lovers from various walks of life presenting the opportunity for a first menu tasting. The event also featured a cook-off challenge which pitted guests against each other to whip up a dish within a set time.
This year Kampala Restaurant Week has introduced a foodie passport enabling frequent diners to enjoy extra rewards. Registration for the foodie passport is digital and on The Pearl Guide website.
“The new digital Foodie Passport will enable diners who check-in frequently to win instant dining vouchers. Registration is quick and easy and I encourage enthusiastic diners to take advantage of this opportunity,” Isaac concluded.
The full list of participating restaurants and menus is available on The Pearl Guide website enabling diners to see what is on offer at each restaurant. https://thepearlguide.co.ug/kampala-restaurant-week
