Victoria University has announced a strategic partnership with India’s Ganpat University to foster international collaboration and enhance academic excellence. The initiative, unveiled by Victoria University’s Vice-Chancellor Dr. Lawrence Muganga on Thursday, aims to provide students with unparalleled cross-cultural learning experiences and advanced skills in pharmaceutical studies.
“This collaboration with Ganpat University will introduce joint programs, student exchanges, and global practical training at Ganpat’s Pharmaceutical Plant in India, alongside numerous research opportunities,” Dr. Muganga stated. The partnership is set to begin immediately, with students from both universities gaining access to these unique opportunities.
Established in 2005, Ganpat University is renowned for its postgraduate and research programmes, having formed partnerships with several prestigious institutions globally, including Victoria University in Australia. The Indian university boasts a strong track record of delivering world-class master’s courses and achieving excellent placement outcomes.
Dr. Remi Mitra, the Chief Relations Officer of Ganpat University, led the Indian delegation. “This partnership will leverage Ganpat University’s international-standard teaching facilities, infrastructure, and student services, providing our students with a global edge,” Dr. Mitra remarked.
The announcement follows closely on the heels of Victoria University receiving accreditation from the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) to offer a Bachelor of Pharmacy programme. This accreditation highlights the university’s commitment to meeting rigorous educational standards, underscored by its state-of-the-art pharmacy laboratory.
Dr. Muganga emphasized the significance of the partnership in reducing the financial burden on students seeking world-class education. “Our objective is to deliver top-notch education within our borders, minimizing the need for overseas studies. Students can now enhance their education with our premier pharmacy program while enjoying enriching experiences abroad,” he said.
Victoria University highlighted the benefits of the collaboration, stating, “Elevate your education with our top-tier Pharmacy programme and explore exciting opportunities abroad through our joint programmes, student exchanges, and practical training at Ganpat University’s Pharmaceutical plant.”
This partnership marks a significant milestone for both institutions, setting a new standard for international academic cooperation in pharmaceutical education.
