The Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in Parliament, Joel Ssenyonyi, has graduated with a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice alongside hundreds of students at the Law Development Centre (LDC).
The ceremony marks the institution’s 51st convocation across the three campuses, with Mbarara campus graduating last week and Lira’s forthcoming on April 26, 2024.
At the ongoing ceremony, 1372 graduands will be conferred upon and receive their deserved academic accolades.
Ssenyonyi, who represents Nakawa West in Parliament, also holds a degree in Business Statistics which he obtained at Makerere University. However, he committed to journalism, working for UBC and NTV Uganda before being appointed the spokesperson of People Power and later National Unity Platform (NUP).
In Ssenyonyi’s own words after winning the Nakawa West seat in 2021, he said that he joined politics to contribute to his country’s well-being and had always harbored an interest in the political sphere.
On December 22, 2023, Ssenyonyi was appointed as the Leader of the Opposition by Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine, the leader of NUP.
