Muganzi Felix, a 23-year-old boda boda rider, is reported to have fought off panga-wielding thugs who attempted to rob his motorcycle. The incident happened this morning in Nakuwade, Wakiso district.
The Police say that the boda boda rider was hired by two individuals, identified as Amanya Joel and another known only as Ibrah, to transport them to the Nakuwade area.
However, upon reaching the destination, the two men, armed with pangas, attacked him in an attempt to rob his motorcycle, registration number UEN 484A.
It is reported that during the altercation, the boda boda rider resisted, managing to overpower one of the assailants, Amanya Joel, with the assistance of local residents.
The other suspect, however, fled the scene with the motorcycle, prompting the residents to alert the Bulenga Police Station.
The first suspect was arrested, and he led the police to where the motorcycle had been hidden. Additionally, during the investigation, the police discovered five suspected stolen motorcycles and eight motorcycle number plates at Muganda Ali Garage in Natete.
Several arrests were made to assist in the investigation, including Buye Peter (18 years old), Kizza Enock (18 years old), Kayondo Isma (17 years old), Ssenyondo Edward (18 years old), Sekiwala Joseph (19 years old), Ssempijja Mahadhi (20 years old), Luwaga Swabul (15 years old), Lujja Christopher (19 years old), Sseruga Muzamir (17 years old), Mukuye Dan (22 years old), and Birungi Abdul Mutwalib (17 years old).
