The 2024 Miss World contest concluded last Saturday in India, with Miss Uganda, Hannah Karema, winning the Miss World Africa Beauty With A Purpose (BWAP) award.
To win this award, Hannah surpassed over 100 contestants. Although she didn’t clinch the overall crown, which was won by Czech Republic’s Krystyna Pyszková, she made it to the top 8 and also secured the second position in Africa.
Hannah Karema, the current StarTimes Brand Ambassador, returned to Uganda on Thursday before addressing the media at StarTimes headquarters on Lumumba Avenue in Kampala City, where she expressed her gratitude to Ugandans for their support.
“It’s a blessing that Uganda supported me. Thank you for lifting the Ugandan flag with me,” she said.
StarTimes will be showcasing her success journey and also Miss Uganda 2024 starting next month.
“As StarTimes, we are proud of our partnership with Miss Uganda Management, and we congratulate Miss Uganda for Hannah’s performance at the Miss World competition. It strengthens our commitment to investing in and promoting local content,” said Bruce Augus, CEO of StarTimes.
Kenneth Kazooba, the Vice President of StarTimes, expressed gratitude, stating, “The StarTimes team is overwhelmed with joy at seeing the successful outcome of our efforts to bring the Miss Uganda crown to our people. We are pleased to elevate Miss Uganda back to the top tier of content where it rightfully belongs. Above all, we are immensely thankful to Uganda for supporting, watching, and voting for our very own Miss Uganda. This success story on the Miss World stage is dedicated to the people of Uganda.”
