The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has arrested Lilian Ayebazibwe, the headteacher of Bubaale Primary School in Bushenyi, for forging Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) results for her 114 candidates who sat for the exams last year.
According to UNEB spokesperson Jennifer Kalule, the headteacher appeared for a hearing at UNEB headquarters in Kampala due to suspected malpractice, resulting in the withholding of exam results for her 114 candidates.
Kalule revealed that during the hearing, it was discovered that the school administrators provided fake results to candidates on testimonial forms.
She further mentioned that UNEB learned that all 114 affected candidates used these testimonials with inaccurate results to enroll in senior one.
“We are still gathering more information on this case,” Kalule stated.
The headteacher has been handed over to the police as further investigations are ongoing.
