Hip-hop artist Daniel Kigozi, also known as Navio, was among the attendees at this year’s Grammy Awards ceremony held on Sunday at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
The Ugandan hip-hop artist attended the event by invitation, thanks to his global connections.
According to exclusive sources close to the artist, Navio is gearing up for some exciting collaborations with two Nigerian talents.
“There’s talk of a collaboration project between Navio and Phyno, and another project with A Jaywon,” disclosed our insider.
Last year, Navio was the only Ugandan artist to receive an invitation to the prestigious Hennessy VIP influencer event in New York City at the Hall Des Lumieres. He rubbed shoulders with some of America’s big names in the hip-hop fraternity.
Meanwhile, collaborations between Ugandan and Nigerian artists have enjoyed resounding success in recent years.
Sheebah Karungi’s song “Weekend,” featuring Runtown, was successful, amassing over 5 million views on YouTube. She also joined forces with Orezi on the track “Sweet Sensation,” which has now garnered over 17 million views on YouTube.
“Feeling,” a collaboration between Bebe Cool and Rudeboy, also made a significant impact. In 2018, Winnie Nwagi and Slim Prince collaborated on “Fire Dance,” possibly one of Nwagi’s biggest collaborations.
Fik Fameica teamed up with Patoranking for the catchy track titled “Omu Bwati,” which proved successful for both artists. David Lutalo created a beautiful fusion with Solidstar on the song titled “Mile.”
Let’s not forget Pallaso’s song “Twatoba,” featuring Davido, which was released in 2015.
