Last night, December 31st 2023, Victoria Hall at the Kampala Serena Hotel was awash with busy bodies, from as early as 8pm, all the way till dawn.

The crowd consisted of young people from well to do families, as well as fun loving high-rollers, that turned up to celebrate their 2023 milestones, and welcome 2024 in style.

The night’s hosts- rapper cum radio host- Timothy Code, and fashionista Zuby, set the mood right as they welcomed revelers with energy.

The DJ line-up that included DJ Simples, DJ Sese, DJ Vanns, Dj Melvin, VX Faisal, and Dj Essmatic didn’t let the crowd have a dull, or even slow moment, all through the night.

The disc spinners took turns on the turntables, and each put up a remarkable display, if the crowd’s excitement and dance moves are anything to go by.

At the click of midnight, revellers gathered outside the hall and cheered loudly as fireworks displays lit up the sky.

Fenon Production did not just stop at lighting up the stage and the room, they also had their latest girl- group, the Warafiki tiro put up an energetic performance.

From the classy shinning outfits that illuminated alongside the well lit stage, to the well- choreographed dance moves, the powerful voices, and stage confidence; Warafiki left the crowd convinced that 2024 looks to be a great year for trio.

For I&M Bank, the night’s lead sponsors, this was another opportunity to offer their customers a unique experience to celebrate their 2023 milestones, and usher in 2024 with pomp.

“Being part of the New Year Count Down party has presented us a great opportunity to get closer to our customers, and celebrate with them in a unique way. We are glad we gave our customers such a memorable experience, one that they will carry at heart throughout the new year. It was a perfect way to re-emphasize that we’re indeed on their side,” said Annette Nakiyaga, the Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at I&M Bank Uganda.

The New Year Count Down is now a household name on the events calendar, that many premium party lovers look up to every New Year’s Eve.

I&M Bank Uganda customers that used the recently launched I&M Bank Mastercard cards, automatically got a 10% discount on their ticket purchases for the event.

According to Nakiyaga,  I&M Bank Mastercard card holders also had a first-hand experience, to enjoy some of the other benefits that come with their respective cards; like discounts at the Kampala Serena Hotel.

“I am excited that being at the Kampala Serena has offered our customers a first-hand opportunity to enjoy some of the benefits that come with our I&M Bank Mastercard cards. I am also glad that we’ve been able to engage with very many potential customers, and have signed up many that wish to enjoy the convenient banking experience that comes with our cards in 2024,” Nakiyaga added.

The huge turnout, and the great organization, created a fizzling atmosphere to make it an extraordinary night that aligned with I&M Bank, and Malembe Lifestyle’s luxury feel.

The new year count down went on all the way into the wee hours of the first day of 2024.
