Police in Kamuli District are hunting for a 34-year-old woman, Suzan Namuganza, who allegedly attempted to murder her husband by cutting off his genitals and robbing him of cash.

The victim, Kawubanya Moses, 45, is the Director of Serena Children’s Home and a resident of Busana zone, Nabirumba ward, Nabwigulu subcounty in Kamuli district.

According to the police preliminary report, the incident occurred on June 10 at around 3 a.m. “When their three-month-old baby started crying, Namuganza, the wife, woke up, seemingly to get milk for the baby. However, upon returning, she attacked the victim, cutting off his penis, and fled with an unknown amount of money,” the police stated.

“The victim then ran to the neighborhood, which came to his aid and brought him to Kamuli General Hospital for medical attention before reporting the incident at CPS Kamuli,” the statement added.

The police report indicates that the man had allegedly taken another wife, which prompted Namuganza to seek revenge for his infidelity.

Busoga North Police Spokesperson Afande Kasadha Michael stated that they are still conducting further inquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
