Absa Bank Uganda has launched a new campaign named “Everybody Deserves a Bestie Kabisa,” aimed at demonstrating the various ways customers can use credit cards to access financing at their convenience.

According to Musa Jallow, Retail and Business Banking Director at Absa Bank Uganda, the move has been influenced by their customers who seek convenience, a modern lifestyle, holistic experiences, and value offerings.

“The Absa credit card enables customers to utilize their credit limits to pay for goods, services, subscriptions, travel, and any other expenses both in-store and online,” he said.

With the Absa credit card, customers can choose flexible repayment plans at reduced interest rates, move money from their credit cards into their personal accounts and mobile wallets through credit card-initiated payments, and also receive benefits such as 50 days interest-free. Customers can also instantly send money off their credit cards to any Visa cardholder worldwide using the Absa Card Send feature.

Customers choosing the Absa Platinum credit card get extended benefits such as Purchase Protection, reward miles for every shilling spent, and can get as many as four supplementary cards to ease payments for their loved ones.

The credit card offerings are in response to a shift and preference for digital payment systems among the population driven by the movement towards cashless transactions.

“We have seen increased demand for these services, evidenced by an increase in the acquisition of credit cards. Absa currently issues over 70% of all credit cards in the market, translating into 92% of payment volume. These numbers are a testament to our dedication to constant innovation to provide high-quality and affordable banking services through our wide variety of financial solutions,” Jallow said.

He further encouraged customers to sign up with the assurance that the registration process is quick and easy.

“We encourage people to sign up for an Absa credit card to unlock benefits such as favorable interest rates, the ability to choose a payment plan on their credit cards that suits them, and enjoy simple and convenient payment plans through a host of digital channels available at Absa, including internet and mobile banking,” he concluded.
