I&M Bank strengthens commitment to social impact with two-year partnership with Nnaabagereka Fund

I&M Bank Uganda reaffirmed its dedication to social impact and social responsibility, by joining forces with the Nnaabagereka Fund for the inaugural Queen’s Ball, held at the Kampala Serena Hotel on Thursday evening.

Hosted by Her Royal Highness, Nnaabagereka Sylvia Nagginda Luswata, in partnership with I&M Bank, the fundraising event aimed to shine a light on the mental health issues impacting youth, women and children in Uganda and to raise funds for organisations that are leading the charge in promoting mental health.

The bank committed to support the Nnabagereka Fund with a two-year sponsorship running from 2025 to 2026.

Speaking to media at the event, I&M Bank CEO Robin Bairstow said:

I&M Bank CEO Robin Bairstow and I&M Bank Executive Director Sam Ntulume.

“Mental health is a critical issue affecting our communities, and I&M Bank remains dedicated to supporting initiatives that make a positive impact. We are honoured to play a part towards this noble cause, and we are delighted to witness the overwhelming support and success of the Queen’s Ball. The funds raised will go a long way in benefiting the youth, women, and vulnerable individuals in our community, providing them with essential support and resources.”

“As we continue to champion mental health awareness and support, let us stand together in solidarity, fostering hope, and creating a brighter future for all,” he added.

Her Royal Highness, Nnaabagereka Sylvia Nagginda Luswata, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of collective action in addressing social challenges.

“In a world where challenges and struggles are all too common, it is uplifting to see individuals and organisations come together to make a difference. And through collective actions and shared purpose, nothing can hinder us from building a brighter and more inclusive institution for all,” said the Nnaabagereka.

“The Nnaabagereka Fund and Endowment Fund shall provide financial support to organisations and initiatives that can focus on mental health awareness, education, advocacy and treatment. By doing so we hope to help and break down barriers, reduce stigma and promote mental wellbeing for all members of our community, ” she added.

The prestigious dinner saw a gathering of distinguished dignitaries, diplomats, Buganda Kingdom officials, entrepreneurs, and philanthropists, all dressed in bespoke attire, honouring the occasion with grace and style.

One of the key activities of the evening was the fundraising raffle, which offered guests a chance to win exciting prizes. Sam Ntulume, the I&M Bank Executive Director, claimed the first raffle prize; an air ticket from Rwanda Air.

Guests were treated to mesmerizing performances by Kenneth Mugabi and his soul stirring voice, adding a touch of entertainment to the evening.

The Nnabagereka Fund which aims to support mental health for youth, women and children in Uganda attained this achievement through the collective generosity of the guests, associates and partners. It continues to make strides in creating a brighter future for those affected by mental health issues in the country.
