Ssegirinya’s Personal Assistant gives update on MP’s health condition

The Personal Assistant of Muhammad Ssegirinya, the Member of Parliament for Kawempe North, Alex Luwemba, has revealed that the legislator is now improving and can speak, eat, walk, and recognize visitors.

According to Luwemba, there has been significant improvement from his condition when he was admitted on December 23, 2023. The MP has since been hospitalized at Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi for three months.

Since being released from Luzira prison about two years ago, Ssegirinya has been in and out of the hospital battling lung diseases, hypertension, skin cancer, among other complications.

In mid-last year, he was rushed to Germany before being transferred to Amsterdam UMC Hospital in the Netherlands. This was after his situation worsened beyond management in Uganda.

He was discharged in September from the Amsterdam UMC hospital where he underwent treatment for different ailments. However, a few months later, his health condition deteriorated, and he was rushed to Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya, where he is now still undergoing treatment.
