Lights, Camera, Fashion: The Glitz and Glamour of the 2024 iKon Awards

Local movie stars, celebrities from other art sectors, and other well-wishers made their way to Kampala Serena Hotel for the 2024 iKon Awards, a celebration of innovation and creativity in Uganda’s film and television industry.

From top-notch fashion to captivating acceptance speeches, the night was ablaze with excitement and anticipation.

The event was graced by popular Nigerian movie stars: Ramsey Nouah, Chris Odeh, Osita Iheme, Nancy Isime, and Uche Ateli. Minister for Gender, Labour, and Social Development Hon. Betty Amongi, who was the Guest of Honour, expressed her gratitude to the filmmakers for taking Uganda onto the international stage. She also committed to advocating for intellectual property laws.

The minister also applauded the event, saying, “Without a doubt, these Awards are the biggest in Africa. I have never witnessed such a magnificent and glamorous event.”

As the evening unfolded, a diverse array of talents were honored for their contributions to the Ugandan cinema and television industries.

As the festivities drew to a close, the spirit of celebration filled the air as filmmakers and industry insiders mingled.
