Nakaseke teachers made to sit 2023 PLE exams following poor performance of their candidates

Nakaseke District LCV Chairperson, Ignatius Koomu Kiwanuka, has subjected about 40 Primary Seven teachers in Nakaseke to assessment tests following the poor performance of the District in the 2023 PLE results.

The teachers are undergoing assessment at Nakaseke Technical Institute, with each teacher sitting for the subjects they teach and also completing the same papers that were taken by their P.7 candidates in 2023.

According to the 2023 PLE results, the average aggregate score in Nakaseke was 20.5.

The district chairperson believes that the performances of their pupils were too poor and thinks the teachers might be the issue.

“You can’t teach what you don’t know,” says the chairperson before revealing that the teachers who fail to achieve a 60% pass mark in the ongoing assessment tests will be required to undergo a refresher course and be demoted to lower classes.
