Lilian Mbabazi dragged to court over Shs16 million in unpaid rent

Lilian Mbabazi has been taken to court for failing to pay off her overdue rent, amounting to Shs16.2 million.

The development came to light after the singer was served with a court summons demanding that she settle the rent arrears.

According to documents obtained by this website, the singer entered into a rental agreement for a house located at Konge-Buziga Plot 7141, Block 273, on February 21, 2018, with a monthly payment obligation of Shs1.5 million.

However, as of July 13, 2023, Lilian Mbabazi had failed to pay her rent for 18 months, with her last payment made in April 2022.

The singer received a demand letter and notice of intention to sue. Upon receiving it, she made a payment of Shs10 million, promising to settle the remaining balance of about Shs16.2 million within three months.

However, the latest developments indicate that she failed to pay the balance, leading the property owner to take legal action against Lilian Mbabazi by filing a case at the Chief Magistrate’s Court of Makindye to recover the owed amount of Shs16.2 million.
