The Kisenyi criminal gang leader, identified as Dog Kanyanya, has succumbed to bullet wounds he sustained during a police operation last weekend.

According to Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Kanyanya was shot in the legs as he attempted to fight police officers.

This occurred during a police operation conducted by officers from the Owino Police following an alert from locals who informed police that Kanyanya’s gang was robbing people in the School View Zone located in Kisenyi II Parish in Kampala Central at around 9 am on Friday.

Owoyesigyire stated that the group consisted of over 10 members armed with knives and iron bars.

He explained that by the time the police officers responded, the gang had robbed over 20 people of their belongings such as wallets, money, watches, mobile phones, and other valuables.

“These thugs rob whoever they come across. We are searching for other group members,” said Owoyesigyire.
