Uganda’s Latibu “Dancing Master” Muwonge, the Africa Boxing Union titleholder, has been ranked second in Africa according to the latest rankings by the World Boxing Council.

Latibu, the younger brother of musician Yung Mulo, competes in super lightweight and has been overpowering his opponents since venturing into pro fights in 2019. So far, he has had eight fights and won them all. His most recent fights saw him defeat Kenya’s Ibrahim Odhiambo and Clement Albano from Tanzania.

Latibu has expressed his excitement about being ranked among the best.

“It’s something I have worked for since turning pro in 2019,” says Latibu.

His hard work and consistent performances are the reasons WBC ranked him second in Africa and 39th in the world in his category. He attributes his success to his fans, coaches, and the management team.

Latibu is set to grace the ring again on February 24, facing Ghanaian boxer Faisal Abubakar for the WBO Africa Super Lightweight title at Lord’s Wembley Sukura Arena in Accra, Ghana.

Meanwhile, Spanish boxer Sandor Martin tops the super lightweight ranking, followed by the USA duo of Richardson Hitchine and Gary Antuanne Russell. English boxer Jack Catterall is ranked fourth, while the USA’s Arnold Barboza is ranked fifth.

Others in the top 10 include Ryan Garcia, Jose Ramirez, Steve Claggett, Lindolfo Delgado, and Regis Prograis.
