NAM SUMMIT: Here Is the Police Traffic Management Plan

Uganda will host the Non-Aligned Movement & G 77 China starting this Monday, and the summits will continue until January 23. The summits will be attended by several Heads of State, government officials, and delegates. The main venue for the summits will be Commonwealth Speke Resort Munyonyo.

This means there will be several diversions on the road. According to the police, the main route for the summits will be the Kampala-Entebbe Expressway to Speke Resort Munyonyo.

The Kampala–Entebbe Expressway to Speke Resort Munyonyo covers a stretch from Entebbe International Airport via Kajjansi Interchange. The corridor is expected to be tightly regulated with diversions and the holding of traffic and other road users.

However, the regulation of traffic flow will take into consideration local and international flights accessing Kampala or the Airport.

The following are the expected diversions. Traffic diversions will only be effected at these points if the need arises:

No motorcycles will be allowed to access the summit route (Entebbe Airport to Speke Resort Munyonyo).

Some boda boda stages along the summit routes and hotels where the visiting heads of state will be residing will be relocated and absorbed into other stages during the summit period.
