Ms. Susan Nsibirwa has been appointed as the Managing Director of Nation Media Group, effective from January 2, 2024. She will replace Tony Glencross, who will be leaving the company on December 22, 2023.
According to Stephen Gitagama, the Group Chief Executive Officer, Timothy Ntale, the Company Secretary, will assume the role of Acting Managing Director starting from December 23, 2023, until Nsibirwa officially takes over.
The statement from Gitagama outlines Nsibirwa’s responsibilities, stating, “Susan will be responsible for leading MPL, The East African, and Africa Broadcasting (U) Limited (the broadcasting company that operates NTV Uganda and Spark TV) to deliver their long-term strategy, business plans, and annual performance targets, to maximize value to shareholders.”
Currently serving in a similar capacity at Ayiva Consulting Solutions, Nsibirwa has previously worked for URGE – Uganda, Vision Group, MTN Uganda, and DFCU Bank, among other organizations.
She holds membership in the Strategy and Audit, Risk & Compliance Board Committees of Monitor Publications Limited and serves as the Board Chair at the African Centre for Media Excellence (ACME), among other boards.
Nsibirwa is a marketing and communications professional with over twenty-five (25) years of experience, including fifteen (15) years in senior executive roles leading corporate, marketing, and communications teams across diverse industries.
Her proven track record includes successfully implementing strategic corporate social responsibility programs and crisis management plans.
Nsibirwa brings expertise in communication, business strategy, and the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders.
She holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Nicosia, Cyprus, and a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Makerere University.
