Mary Wangari Wamae – the Group Executive Director of Kenya’s Equity Group – last evening launched her book titled ‘The Village Girl: My Dream, Life and Legacy’ by hosting the cream of Uganda’s corporate world to a cocktail experience curated by Tanqueray Gin at the Kampala Serena Hotel poolside.

The book documents her journey from her roots as a young village girl in Nyeri (south Central Kenya) with dreams of a bright future, to her life as a mother, a lawyer in private practice and eventually into the boardrooms of Equity Bank.

Wangari shared some of her life stories as well as advice on how to navigate life as a parent in the high-octane world of corporate leadership as guests were immersed in the world of Tanqueray Gin with a full cocktail experience put together by some of Uganda Breweries Limited’s (UBL) professional mixologists preparing a selection of cocktails featuring both the original London Dry Gin and the zesty and fruitful Flors de Sevilla.

Some of the guests included Anthony Kituuka – Equity Bank Uganda MD, Judy Kyanda – MD of Knight Frank Uganda, Dr. Peter Kimbowa – NSSF Board Chair, Nation Media Group CEO Stephen Gitagama, Prof. Samuel Sejjaaka – Monitor Publications Board Chair, Daniel Kalinaki – Nation Media Group Uganda’s General Manager Editorial and more.

While addressing the guests, Eunice Waweru, UBL’s Finance and Strategy Director, said, “UBL is proud to be a part of sharing your journey with Uganda and to celebrate you with our Tanqueray Gin – which is the perfect mix of ingenuity, heritage and hard work – qualities that you embody.”
